October 2018
I never had any affiliations with breast cancer awareness- until now. Before it was just kind of on my radar and I kind of just acknowledge October as BCA month and then went on with my day. This year is different. October hit me like a ton of bricks. My heart broke into pieces when I found out my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this spring. She’s currently receiving treatment in Taiwan because of family reasons and there are times when I’ve broken down not only because of our current situation but also simply because I miss her. I miss seeing my family once or twice a month. I miss being able to just simply have dinner with them. I miss hugging them. I miss them so much.
I want to take this time and appreciate everyone who has been there for me back then and now. Late night talks, having a meal together, or just giving me a hug or smile has truly helped me one way or another.
Thank you for giving me strength.
Thank you for giving us hope.
Let’s keep supporting our loved ones around us because their battle is our battle.

January 2020
I wrote this back in 2018 when my mom was first diagnosed. I am proud to say that she has won her battle in fighting breast cancer. Our family has grown together as a whole and I’m very thankful for where we are today. Congratulations, Mom, thank you for being my hero.
